Often times, however, family law does not mean a “divorce.” Many clients seek to protect their assets to ensure that if divorce does occur, it will not result in a messy financial dispute. This can often be accomplished through carefully tailored prenuptial agreements, whether for a marriage involving a client who has accumulated or inherited substantial assets prior to the marriage, a second marriage or the marriage of a child of a client who has substantial assets and wants to pass on those assets during his lifetime without fear that it will be lost in a contentious divorce. W&N has substantial experience preparing complex prenuptial and postnuptial agreements in all of these situations to protect their client’s wealth and assets.
