Past Settlements and Verdicts

• $15,000,000 settlement for a 55-year-old man who underwent radiation treatment for throat cancer and became quadriplegic as a result of the hospital’s negligence for administering the wrong amount of radiation burning his cervical spinal cord.
• $3,600,000 verdict for the family of a woman who died following the birth of her daughter due to the failure to diagnose her dissecting aorta and she bled to death.
• $2,300,000 settlement for the surviving husband and two small children of a woman who underwent a routine biopsy and the resident at the hospital negligently perforated her liver causing her death.
• $1,560,000 settlement for a 12-year-old girl who was injured when a van negligently left the roadway and ran over her as she was waiting at the bus stop for her school bus.
• $1,061,000 settlement for a 32-year chef who suffered a back injury when the freight elevator doors at the D.C. Convention Center suddenly closed on him from the top and bottom throwing him to the ground due to the negligence of the elevator company.
• $911,000 verdict for 42-year-old mother of three children as result of her doctor’s failure to properly diagnose her breast cancer which ultimately changed existing law in Maryland regarding the recovery of damages for cancer victims.
• $750,000 settlement for a 63-year-old woman who was walking in a crosswalk when she was struck by a driver of a van turning right onto Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring.
• $500,000 settlement for a couple driving in Rockville, Maryland when a 75-foot oak tree suddenly fell across all 5 lanes of Montrose Road crushing them inside their vehicle.
